About me

15+ years working with adults from all walks of life.

My name is Ernesto L. Brea. I'm a UK-qualified, BACP accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist, fully bilingual in English and Spanish. I trained at Roehampton University, hold a postgraduate diploma in Attachment Studies from Wimbledon Guild, and am a Certified Cyber Therapist with the Online Therapy Institute.

I have over 15 years of consulting room experience in Central London. My practice has now moved fully online, with clients ranging from busy professionals and digital nomads to those in the UK and abroad who want consistent, private therapy from wherever they happen to be.

Over the years I've worked with people from many different backgrounds — including the LGBTQI+ community and minority ethnic groups — both privately and within the NHS.

How I work

Humanistic, integrative — and grounded in attachment.

In the first few sessions I'd like to get to know you and understand what has become unmanageable. I'm interested in your current and past experiences, the people who matter to you, and the patterns you find yourself caught in. My aim is to offer a therapeutic relationship where you feel properly met — and to help you make sense of how you relate to yourself and to others.

Although my approach is humanistic and integrative, I have a particular interest in attachment studies. Understanding your own attachment style is often a turning point in how you experience yourself and your relationships.

I often work with

  • Anxiety and over-preoccupation
  • Depression and low mood
  • Childhood trauma
  • Difficulties relating to sexuality
  • Shame, guilt and punitive self-talk
  • Low self-esteem and lack of confidence
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Feelings of underachievement
  • Managing emotions in a healthier way
  • Making significant life changes
  • Work-related challenges
  • Sense of being stuck or burnt out

  • Further to my previous therapy with you, I felt your expertise helped enormously one year ago. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and care when I felt most vulnerable.

  • I can't thank you enough, Ernesto, for your help and support in what has been, as you know, a momentous two years for me.
